Best Bistro/Brasserie
of the Year Award 2011
The ethos behind
Lastra Farm Hotel has always been to create a dining and hospitality
experience rather than just a good feed!
Sourcing local ingredients wherever possible and believing in a creative
journey from field to plate, Lastra Farm is passionate about its food.
The mystery diners from the award panel, who visited the hotel
undercover, commented that they had an excellent evening with very
attentive (but not intrusive) staff and of course superb food.
They particularly liked the way the local producers and suppliers were
promoted in every menu under the Food Hero heading and this is something
that the Lastra team cares deeply about. |
Best Small Hotel
of the Year 2011
Lastra Farm Hotel was
established as a hotel and restaurant 31 years ago and it constantly
strives to improve service and food standards by setting trends, not
following them. Every staff member, from the head chef to the porter,
being an integral part of the hotel’s success and involved in its day to
day running.
The Judges said they were
impressed with the hotel’s Sense of Place, very high level of occupancy
and the glowing internet comments on 'Trip Advisor'. Yet we're not
standing still, as there is a refurbishment programme currently under
way with new internet access being installed, a complete electrical
refit and an update of the decor in the main restaurant.
We like to think that Lastra Farm is
something more than just a Hotel. It's a way of life we share with our
guests and friends so, as we say in Welsh, "Croeso!" or "Welcome!"

On 29th January 2010, The Lastra Farm
Restaurant & Bistro celebrated as it received a coveted Gold award for "2010
Best Bistro of the Year" along with scooping the Silver Award for "Best
Small Hotel" at the annual Anglesey Tourism Awards for Excellence.
Flying the flag for hotels in Anglesey,
the team at Lastra Farm celebrated their achievement at a glitzy ceremony
hosted by local BBC presenter Rhun ap Iorweth, and which took place at Tre
Ysgawen Hall Hotel. Lastra Farm owners, Elaine Davies and Adrian Parry, are
delighted that the latest achievements of the Lastra Farm Hotel have been
recognised.
“It's a real honour for Lastra Farm
to have received this accolade and we are naturally proud to receive
this award." said Elaine. "The team at Lastra work hard to ensure that
all our guests have the best possible experience when they come to
dine or stay with us. We hope, by that winning these awards, we can
have a positive impact on visitors’ perceptions about the outstanding
levels of quality that Anglesey has to offer."

After the award ceremony, Adrian and Elaine posed for
photographs along with some of their hosts, and Adrian was enthusiastic
about Lastra Farm's successes. "We've always been passionate about putting
Anglesey on the tourist map. These awards, along with the other recent
achievements of Lastra Farm, will allow us to do that with even more
confidence.
We're really upbeat about the tourism year ahead for the island,
and Elaine and I would like to say 'Thank you' not only to everyone that
voted for us,
but also to our growing band of loyal guests who return again and
again, and whom we have to
thank for making the running of Lastra farm such a worthwhile experience."
